Where to begin?
My sister left yesterday, and I'm very pleased to announce that my
closet has stayed very orderly!! Which is quite an accomplishment,
because generally, after a week of houseguests, my closet would have
disintgrated into a pile of I-don't-know-what! I had managed to get
all the permanent labels up before she arrived, and my sister was
BLOWN AWAY by it all - she asked me to come to her house and teach
her! (let me tell you THAT would be a challenge you would relish!!!)
And I received the nicest compliment from her - she said, "You
have the calmest house with a child that I've ever been in. I usually
associate a house with a child with chaos, and yours is so calm."
It really highlighted the progress I've made - sometimes it's hard
for us to keep in touch with the "baby steps" and to have
her say that really made me feel like I'm in a different place - closer
to my goal of having my private self match my public self!
Regarding my wardrobe ... well ... I can't say that I love getting
dressed now. I'm still standing there, thinking, "I have nothing
to wear." But there are a few big differences. It's made me more
mindful of the fact that it's really just as easy to put on something
nice as it is to put on a pair of sweats (especially now that everything
has an accessible home). Before, I felt a sense of hopelessness -
like I didn't even know where to begin. Now I feel like I can see
much more clearly what I DON'T have, and what I'd like. I've always
liked the idea of buying a few wonderful pieces, rather than a ton
of mediocre pieces, but never felt like I could see clearly enough
to make that commitment. The temptation was always to just "stretch
my dollar" and get as much as I could with it, hoping that would
fill the gaping holes. Now, I feel like I can be more patient, that
I can look at it like a process that I can build on over a few birthdays,
Christmases, windfalls, etc. I'm thrilled with my shopping list, and
I'm actually looking forward to my next shopping experience. I used
to LOVE to shop, but I've been shopping for so long with my "old
script." It wasn't working anymore, and I would just get depressed.
I can't wait to shop with my "new script"!!!
And it was VERY interesting to look back and see
how closely my "closet work" mirrored the goals I expressed
at the beginning. I feel like the next step is to really focus on
my money/time organization, so that the riches to support my goals
will flow in!!!
2004 April 05 The wardrobe journey has been interesting - I'm actually
still somewhat frustrated with how "off-track" I've gotten
in the last few years, and am gearing up to get rid of a few more
things, but it's SO great being able to SEE the track I want to be
on. And miracle of miracles - my closet has STAYED organized. I've
been so busy lately, and in the past, I would have been dealing with
a knee-high pile of clothes on the floor, but all the systems have
held!!! That is truly a miracle!!!
And business has been hopping!! Just signed a new client and am waiting
to hear from two more VERY good prospects!!
Thanks for everything!!! Onward and upward!!!

I appreciate your insightful and practical STYLE
COUNSEL as you assisted me to turn my Diva inside out and organize
my wardrobe. After the OM session I had a clear vision of my unleashed,
unreserved, bold, feminine, soft, and flowing style. I was well suited
to embark on a treasure quest to find the precise yet interchangeable
pieces based on our collaborative visualization process...silky smooth!
My budget range was met with your consciousness to maximize wearability
and comfort in my extended layers of new skin. Best of all, the fashion
advise you gave was not adorned nor pretentiously accessorized, it
was layered upon with understanding and respect of my own personal
creative expression!
08 August 2004 It's 1:10pm on a Sunday afternoon …. Wanted to
take this time to thank you because I was going thru my purse and
cleaning it out … and you know how you were saying that you
have a lot of bags and stuff … well I decided to put all my
things in their own little home in their own little compartments in
their own little bags within my big bag … and, I was laughing
to myself because I was thinking that you really really inspired and
influenced me by sharing your own journey. And, as you know, I've
worked with other organizers before …I've actually worked with
three other organizers before working with you … And, I'm sure
you know you have a very unique approach .. it's built on a philosophy
… your whole truth, love, meaning and purpose … which
is in and of itself, an excellent paradigm … but more importantly
when it comes to working how you've worked with me, sharing your own
journey to the appropriate degree, I should say, has been very impactful.
So I just really appreciate that . you inspire me on the new levels.
Have a great rest of the weekend!

19 September 2003 Thanks so much for helping me get
ready for this trip. The wardrobe matrix feels strange but it's extremely
helpful. I almost feel like a Barbie paper doll. It's a little scary
not to have more clothes than I need. But it's amazing that I do have
everything I need. You remind me to be on purpose. You are helping
me to become who I hope I can be. I can't thank you enough!
08 April 2004 I just got back from an interview and
I just wanted you to know how good I felt about what I was wearing
and about my clothes in general. You help me get a fresh, new perspective
on my "old" clothes. I usually feel a little frumpy in the
outfit I wore today, but just putting on my mules and hoops gave me
a more hip feeling. I am actually excited about putting on MY clothes.
I really thought we'd go through my closet and throw
60% of my wardrobe out and I'd have to spend another two to three
hundred dollars on new pieces and accessories. Instead, you created
at least 10 new outfits for me with the clothes I already have and
a whole new perspective! I even have 3 new capri pants and a skirt
I will absolutely love with one visit to a tailor! Is there anything
the Organizing Maniac CANNOT do? Truly you are a wonderful teacher
and an absolute joy and inspiration in my life. You need to add the
word "Magic" to your website or "Fairy Dust" because
if you could breathe new life into my closet, you can do anything.
All I can tell my boyfriend is "She went into my closet and said
"Let there be life!". I can't wait to hear him say "Is
that new?"
I can go on and on for days. Thank you.

05 November 2004 I also want to schedule a time with
you to have you take me shopping for some clothes!!!!! My favorite
clothes now are the ones you helped pick out for me ... the shirts,
pants, etc. ... I just love your taste. I lost more weight (yes, believe
it or not), all my old clothes look frumpy and I love wearing "june
style" fun clothes now.
